No Amnesty Petition

They just won't let this go. George Bush and Harry Reid are determined to pass a bill granting illegal aliens legal status without addressing the problems caused by indescriminate border crossings. You can let them know that you are not happy with this course of action by signing the No Amnesty Petition.

Police wary of bringing an ICE office to Marlborough

When you read the facts in this article you should come to the conclusion that illegal aliens are responsible for crime. You should not come to the conclusion that enforcing the law prevents crime from being reported. If a crime such as extortion or murder is committed against an illegal alien in a community with a large illegal alien population the mostly likely perpetrator is a fellow illegal alien. It is time to stop the insanity and start enforcing the law.

We don't need to have massive round up efforts. All we need to do is deport illegal aliens when they are identified breaking the law. How hard is that!?

The Senate, Our Troops and the Political Process.

Reid labels military leader 'incompetent'

We have been told over and over that they are against the war but support the troops. It has now come out that the anti-war talk in the Senate not only personally attacks those in uniform but do so for political gain. Senate majority leader Harry Reid does not expect to gain enough support to pass any meaning full legislation that will bring the war to an end. What he hopes to do is keep bashing the War, President Bush and the Troops in order to divide the Republican party. This will presumably help the Democrats. American Troops are in harms way. Using them as pawns to gain power in Washington is wrong. The American people need to wake up and start demanding intellectual leadership from our elected officials.

Banning Tag On The Playground

Who would have thought that in today's environment a simple game of tag would be considered too rough. After all todays popular songs talk about physically hurting those who "disrespect" you. We are informed of assaults, murders and rapes on the news every night. On network TV the majority of programs have themes consisting of violence, murder, betrayal and casual sex.

But let an elementary student burn off some energy while having a good time?! That is much to dangerous to allow. After all they may get hurt. Or someone may get their feelings hurt. Is this any way to prepare our children for the real world they will be entering 10-12 years down the road.

It is time to strip away the rose colored glasses that many people are still wearing. In real life there are winners or losers. In real life people get their feelings hurt. Accidents can happen to anyone at anytime. It is our obligation as parents and educators to prepare our children for the real world. They need to know how to lose as well as how to win. They need to learn how to pick themselves up after being rejected and move on with their life.

It is my understanding that a mother is organizing a protest aimed at Willett Elementary School in Attleboro, MA who has banned the game of tag, among others. I applaud her efforts and will update you with more information about this protest as I get it. I have also learned that tag has been banned in another Massachussetts school, McCarthy Elementary School in Framingham.

Those of us with some common sense must take a stand and stop this insanity. Lend your support either financially or by donating your time to make a difference and protect our kids from this lunacy.

Dangerous Self-Interest

ABC News is reporting that Sen. John Rockefeller (D-W. Va.) has stated that "the world would be better off today if the United States had never invaded Iraq — even if it means Saddam Hussein would still be running Iraq". Now this man is on the lead Democrat on the Intelligence Committee. He has seen all of the intellegence and even voted in favor of invading Iraq. It has come to light that many in the U.N. who opposed the invasion were taking kickbacks from Sadaam's regime. The size of these kickbacks makes the Enron scandel look small in comparison.

Today the Telegraph.co.uk is reporting that the conditions in Abu Ghraib prison have deteriorated since the Iraqi's took over the prison. They have reported that a witness said that even in the thieves' section prisoners were being treated badly. "Someone was shouting 'Please help us, we want the human rights officers, we want the Americans to come back',"

So what is the truth. Are Americans the bad guys. Who is looking out for the victoms of abuse around the world. The U.N., the "benevolent" Democrats or the men and women who wear the uniforms of the U.S. Military?

Labeling Vs. Profiling

I have received some strong opinions to my last post. The prolific labeling of people based on race and ethnicity has got to stop. Hopefully this article will shed some light on where I believe most Americans mind set is concerning terrorism.

I worked with a man back during the Iranian Hostage crises (circa Jimmy Carter). I am not sure what his ethnicity was but his skin was dark. During that time, he placed an Iranian Air Force Sticker on his briefcase and spoke of his Muslim faith and allegiance to Iran. I currently have a friend who is a senior level executive for a large American company who is of Middle Eastern descent and is also Muslim.

If professional profiling of terrorists is enacted should both of these men be treated equally? Absolutely not. Why is that? While it is true both men are Muslim their personal lifestyles and behavior are very different. The first man vocalized his dislike of many American policies and western values. His everyday actions are confrontational and hateful. The second man believes in freedom, works hard for both his company and family. His family is very active in the community in which they live. In short they are Americans and Muslims.

Ironically, as the concept of diversity matures the boxes that people are put in become more rigid. In other words by pointing out that the vast majority of terrorists are Muslim this somehow (incorrectly) gets translated that all Muslims are terrorists. It is time to stop labeling people based on race and/or ethnicity. We need to start judging people by what is in there heart and soul. If hatred and violence is in their heart it is the responsibility of those who have peace and understanding in their hearts to marginalize and stop these hateful people.

The KKK was marginalize and rendered powerless because the communities where the KKK members lived decided that they would not tolerate that hateful behavior. The peers of the KKK members became vocal and forceful when saying the violence has got to stop. Did the KKK give up there power easily and peacefully? No it was a struggle in which people got hurt. But it was a struggle that was necessary for the good of all people.

President George Bush said this week, "America is at war with Islamic fascists who will use any means to destroy those of us who love freedom, to hurt our nation." The Council on American-Islamic Relations issued an immediate objection to the President's reference to "Islamic fascists". Nihad Awad, executive director of CAIR protested, "We have to isolate these individuals because there is nothing in the Koran or the Islamic faith that encourages people to be cruel or to be vicious or to be criminal. Muslims world wide know that for sure." In light of this objection, we are left to ponder why every Islamic leader in the U.S., and the world, does not publicly condemn every terror action being undertaken in the name of the god of Islam. Their silence is deafening...

Between 1970 and present, there were more than 60 other notable examples of terrorism perpetrated by Middle Eastern male Islamists between the ages 17 and 40, but we think you get the point. Singling out "Middle Eastern male Islamists between the ages 17 and 40" is not "ethnic profiling," it's "terrorist profiling" -- acting on prolific evidence.

To win or not to win that is the question

This makings of this post was started with a comment a comment I made on Blackfive.net After thinking about what I wrote it seemed as if a little clarification was necessary.

The comment started out by stating that it is time for a change in rhetoric from our Commander in Chief. Our President said that we were going to war against Terror after 9/11. I believed him and believed that he meant that we were going to fight this war to win. You only win a war when one side gives up. When a band of thugs attacks the citizens of the United States, the US Military or one of our allies the only acceptable outcome should be either death to the attackers or their unconditional surrender. Peace, love and understanding has no place on the battlefield. Once an enemy has surrendered then we can show them the humanity and compassion that is unique to the American society.

In many instances an enemy once defeated has become a great friend of the United States of America. Just look at Great Britain, Japan and Germany. There is no reason to believe that our enemies in the Arab world would be any different. The key to affecting this transformation is the absolute and unequivacable defeat of our enemy. Playing games with cease fires just leads to a prolonged conflict that results in the death of more innocent people. The Islamic Radicals will never give up as long as we are afraid of hurting their feelings or offending their allies.

The truly compassionate thing for the freedom loving nations of the world to do is to defeat the terrorist sponsering nations and their armies quickly and decisively. All this talk about compassion and understanding does little more that prolong this conflict and embolden our enemy.

We defeated Saddam Hussen in record time. The people of Iraq are better off with this murderous thug. We cannot allow another nation setup a repressive regime to squash the hopes and dreams of the citizens of this Arab nation. We cannot allow this theology of hate and murder to spread throughout the world.

We are the United States of America, the first country to guarantee the right to life, liberty and the pursuet of happiness to ALL of her citizens. Look it up! Either we are going to fight this war to defeat those who oppress the weak and kill the innocent or we are not. Which is it?

Corruption Kills

I have to say that I am surprise at how poorly the Big Dig tunnels are. I expected the cost overruns, pork, cronyism and general corruption. I also expected that pride would triumph. I was wrong. Maybe American pride is an old fashioned concept. It used to be that when a large project was undertaken it was done right. We now are finding out that the Ted Williams tunnel was constructed better than the Connector tunnel. Heads should role.

It is time for the citizens of Massachussetts to put an end to corruption. It is killing the citizens of this state. If you are fed up with what the Democratic party have done to the state but do not beleive the Republican party is a viable option then consider the Libertarian party. The book The Libertarian Reader will give you an idea of what this party believe in. Get active. Talk to your friends and most importantly get involved. You do make a difference.

Say No To Helmet Laws

First the Massachussetts legislature attempts to dictate the personal behavior of people who drive or ride in cars by mandating the use of seatbelts. Now they want to dictate that soccer players wear helmets and not be allowed to head butt a ball. Now it seems to me that head butting the ball is an integral part of the game. How will Massachussetts kids compete on a national level if the State Legislators mandate that the rules of soccer be modified when played within this State. When you take the effect of this proposed legistlation to its logical end it we see that it will deny Massachussetts students the ability to compete for college scholarships outside of thier home state. Do we really want political leaders who are willing to sacrafice our freedoms so they can say they "care about the children"?

Selective Enforcement

I really have to wonder who sets the priority of our law enforcement agencies. Over the Fourth of July weekend one of our federal agencies conducted a sting operation to catch people who purchased fireworks legally in New Hampshire and then drove into Maine where they are not legal. I would not object so much if our law enforcement agencies were going after illegal aliens with the same fervor. Why would they setup a sting operation to catch people who buy fireworks legally and then drive into another state and completely ignore illegal aliens? I can only think of one reason, money. Ticketing people who buy fireworks brings in revenue for the government. Allowing illegal aliens to participate in government handouts increases the federal social programs customer base.

Flying without ID

Did you know that you can fly without ID. I find this hopeful. If more people were to start exercising this right then maybe we could start to bring some sanity back to air travel. It does seem as if the rules are being relaxed a bit.

Celebrate a great day.

Our troops in Iraq had a great day. We salute you for a job well done. The animal know as Abu Musab al-Zarqawi is no longer walking the face of the earth. There are many men, women and children who will live because he died. It won't be too many more years before Iraq will be part of the civilized world!!

Less laws make a stronger nation.

It is time to change the rules of the game in Washington. We have enough laws on the books that will allow law enforcement agencies to prosecute any one who violates an individual's rights. I challenge you to come up with a single act where one individual knowingly caused harm to another individual in the US that does not violate at least one law currently on the books.

We do not need more laws we need enforcement of existing laws. Unfortunately our lawmakers are mostly lawyers and it is their best interest to make the legal system as complex as possible. This benefits their friends and themselves when they leave politics and go back to lawyering.

This gluttony of laws benefits the lawyers, the rich who can afford to pay the lawyers, and the profession criminal who studies the law so they can circumvent it. The average person is not able to get fair treatment within the justice system without suffering financial hardships.

We the people need to say enough is enough. Quit grandstanding and hold our agencies with operating within the current legal system. Make it clear to the law enforcement agencies that they are to enforce the laws currently on the books.

Be Proud of the US Military

Here is it June 2006 and the big news concerning the military is the so called "massacre" that occurred in Iraq. Naturally the American media is wringing there hands over how this event "looks" to the rest of the world. I have yet to hear this same media discuss how the video of the Islamic Radicals beheading helpless captives who were bound and held and gun point makes these barbarians look bad.

This is an observation that has been made by many others. Why do I reiterate this sentiment now? Because this drumbeat of how awful American Soldiers are has worn out its welcome. The fact is that the military is doing a fantastic job both on the battle field and in policing themselves. The press learns of these incidents being investigated from the military themselves. If there is a psychopathic murderer serving in Iraq I have no doubt that they will be brought to justice while the rest of our fine military forces continue to bring sanity to an insane part of the world.

I am proud of the men and women who serve in our armed forces and you should be too!
